Nadia
Dad raised me to be a hard ass and that trait didn't dissolve when I moved out of his house. In fact, when I finally got my 'big girl' job at the prison it got worse. I have been observing Kace for a year now. Once he jumped on my radar, he fucked up. I make his life hell, little did I know my own was about to railroad me.
Kace
I fucked up one damn time and got thrown into this prison. Judge took one look at me, with the governor whispering in his ear, and threw away the fucking key. No second chances, nothing. It took a few years, and unlikely friendships but my prison life turned around. Now though? I have a bitch of a guard on my ass. Slowly ruining what life I have left.
Lucien
She doesn't know me, but I know her. I have known her all of my life-- watching her from afar. When I got sent to the prison she is a guard at, I snapped when I found out she was being a fucking whore for one of the inmates. She is mine and I will fucking kill anyone who lays a hand on her.

I just finished staring at the wall wondering what the h I had just read and I am still trying to figure this book out and everything that actually happened in it.
I can say that when I set out to read this book, I expected one thing. I didn't expect what was actually written between the covers, and that was actually a good thing.
Nadia, the FMC in our story has been given the crappiest life possible in life, family, career and everything possible. She is a guard at a prison and she finally finds someone, an inmate of all people, who actually treats her the way she deserves to be treated, from behind bars albeit, and he makes her heart flutter. And their spice and passion was just so well written and built was beautiful and their relationship was everything that you could ever want.
Kace, Kace is Kace and you can't help but love him for the man that he is.
From the start of reading this book you know that it was going to be a dark prison romance. We have our main FMC Nadia and she is just amazing. She is strong, intelligent, and kickass. And then we have our two MMCs. Lucien and Kace. I had thought at first that this was going to be a reverse harem or even a love triangle.
When I first started the book I really didn't know how deep the character development went, their backstories, their arcs, or even what their storylines were going to be. And as I got deeper and deeper into the story I realized that this was such a deeper and so much more emotional, deep and totally insane book then I had thought it was going to be when I first started it.
Lucien is so obsessed, crazy, compulsive and you soon realize that he is rationalizing his behaviour because of his own past trauma. I just kept thinking no Lucien, you are just insane, it doesn't work that way, God doesn't work that way, life doesn't work that way.
By the end of the book I wanted to kick and scream and punch the walls. I hate that this is a duet and I have to wait months to read the next book. I need to know the answers to my questions. I need to know what happens next.
This book is just perfectly paced, plotted, the characters are just crafted perfectly. I read so many books and a lot of them are on the dark side, and I have never in my life read something this dark and twisted. This book is just so unique and just one of a kind. It actually deserves to be its own genre.
“What I want is to find a way for you to get released. Even if that requires bribing the wrong people. I want you to come home with me, to share my bed, to eat the shitty food I make, and to fall asleep with me on the patio when it storms. I want to wake up to you every morning, watch the stars in your eyes every night, and feel you curl around me when your heart calls to mine.”
